In His Own Words: A Missionary Vlog

The inspiration for this month started with some friends who had come over to visit us while we were still abroad.  They told me a tale of another young missionary, (we'll call him George for safety sake) in a nearby part of Asia.  The story went that although he was working hard, preaching the gospel steadily, although people were listening and responding, the money just wasn't there for him to come back for a second year.  At the time it was looking like he would have to go home.

"George" is going to tell us his tale in his own words. He'll use his own name and the country where he works but he will be speaking carefully about the work he does.  You'll notice some "code words," and if you have any questions about what it is he's talking about, please email us as maidservantsofchrist@gmail.com.  Please be cautious in your comments.  We won't publish comments with too much information because it makes it possible for his host country to google him and come up with this video.
I encourage you to listen to the entire VLOG,  then scroll down to the bottom and find out what you can do to help!

But He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose." (Luke 4:43)

When my friends left, I went back to my dishes and cried.  I prayed and complained to God that it wasn't right for people to come so far, work so hard and be left in the lurch.  This month of focus on missions and missionaries is a direct result of that prayer.  I was convicted that if the young man we saw in that video wasn't able to remain in his host country, it will be because Christians like us failed to partner with God.
Please consider helping "George" stay another year. Here is the link to donate. The smallest gift matters.  This blog is 100% self-supported. All the funds donated (less the fees charged by the collecting website) will be given to the church that sponsors him for his support!
