Thursday Prayers

Prayer is the conversation of a person with God.  It is a way that we present all of our joys, troubles, fears, gratitude, heartaches and hopes.  More than that, it's the path of our submission.  Every prayer begins with an address to the God who is greater than all and ends with an acknowledgment that we can only come to this throne because our great high priest, Jesus Christ, came first to earth.  We pray, "Your will and not mine be done," and we accept that this prayer is not about getting God to do what we want, but learning to do what He wants.

Prayer is the response of an entire community to the presence of God. Collectively we prayer for aid in times of trouble and protection in our daily lives.  We pray for food for our table, health for our parents, and good choices for our children.  As women our prayer life together is especially important.  In ladies' Bible classes and sitting down over coffee, in the car before an important interview and here on the internet, women come together to build our part of the house of God in prayer.

If prayer is a way of learning to submit to the will of God, and if we are commanded as women to encourage each other to "love their husbands, to love their children," then clearly we need to be together in prayer! (Titus 2:4) We are called to be praying over the people we love, confessing our sins, bowing down low, putting away our pride and becoming together the band of sisters God intended us to be.

As a community of people, we'd like to ask you to join us in prayer!  Tell us what's on your mind, what would you like to ask God for, and who you would like to be.  Whatever is going on with you, we'll commit to praying for this week and we want you to lift us up in prayer too!
